The “Future of the financial Center” advisory board, appointed by the Swiss Federal Council,
Held its first meeting on June 9.
The Federal Council decided in December 2014 to appoint an advisory board to asses the future
Challenges and prospects for Switzerland’s financial center and submit recommendations for any
Action deemed necessary. Led by Professor Aymo Brunetti, the advisory board is comprised of
Representatives from the relevant authorities, the private sector, and academia.
The board will analyze the tax system’s incentives to take on debt, and consider measure for
Improving financial stability, It will asses the steps competent authorities would need to take to
Ensure that double taxation does not arise from the implementation of plans for a financial
Transaction tax in the European Union and other jurisdictions, It will also closely monitor the
Implementation of the Council’s financial market strategy.
